SRSG visits Mogadishu to meet with the Somali President Sheikh Sharif Ahmed and attends the Council of Ministers meeting where a decision is taken to forbid planes from landing at airports not under the control of the Government.

President Sheikh Sharif Ahmed holds a press conference in Mogadishu in which he underscores the Somali Government's will to defend the nation and appeals to the Somali people and the International Community to help the Government "defeat these foreign fighters" known to have been collaborating with Somali insurgent groups to obstruct peace and stability.
