The United Nations International Labour Organization (ILO) programme in Somalia is promoting economic recovery, employment creation and support to decentralisation, supporting local economic recovery drawing heavily on the documented experience of the ILO InFocus Programme on Crisis Response and Reconstruction in other post conflict countries to adopt and implement an economic recovery model for the Somali environment.
The main components involved are job creation initiatives and identification of economic opportunities and potentials through local economic forums, donor agencies and NGOs.
