Integrated Regional Information Networks (IRIN) provides humanitarian news and analysis about sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle-East and parts of Asia for a wide audience including humanitarian decision-makers, governments, advocacy and rights groups, academic institutions and media. IRIN also strives to ensure that affected communities can access reliable information, so they can take informed decisions about their future. To this end, IRIN runs a Somali radio service providing humanitarian news and information in Somali for one hour every day, broadcast nationally on short wave and via some local Somali FM stations.
IRIN is part of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), but its services are editorially independent. Its reports do not necessarily reflect the views of the UN and its Agencies, nor its Member States.
