Closure of UNPOS
The United Nations Political Office for Somalia (UNPOS) completed its Security Council mandate on 3 June 2013. The United Nations continues to provide support to the Somalia Federal Government's peace and reconciliation efforts through the United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM), established by Security Council resolution 2101 (2013).

Nairobi, 20 January 2009 - The United Nations Special Representative for Somalia, Ahmedou Ould-Abdallah, has praised the work of the High Level Committee, comprising delegates from the Transitional Federal Government and the Alliance for the Re-Liberation of Somalia, which is currently meeting in Djibouti to discuss expanding the Parliament and forming a Government of National Unity. Representatives of the international community are also in Djibouti. [English]
