Closure of UNPOS
The United Nations Political Office for Somalia (UNPOS) completed its Security Council mandate on 3 June 2013. The United Nations continues to provide support to the Somalia Federal Government's peace and reconciliation efforts through the United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM), established by Security Council resolution 2101 (2013).

Mogadishu, 28 October 2011 – The Joint Security Committee (JSC) held its 10th Meeting in Mogadishu, on 27 - 28 October 2011. Special Representative of the Secretary-General (SRSG) Augustine P. Mahiga addressed the meeting, which he co-hosted with Prime Minister Abdiweli Ali, and Brigadier-General Nduwumunusi Audace, AMISOM Deputy Force Commander. The meeting was attended by Transitional Federal Government (TFG) Ministers of Defence, Interior and National Security, Chief of the National Security Force, the Commissioner of the Somali Police Force, Senior Security representatives of the TFG, Puntland, Galmudug, and Ahlu Sunna Wal Jama'a. Also in attendance was UN, AMSOM, IGAD, the EU, US, Japan, League of Arab States, UK, France, Sweden and Denmark. The meeting discussed the political and security situation as well as ongoing activities to mobilize resources for the National Security and Stabilization Plan in furtherance of the Kampala Accord and the Roadmap on Ending the Transition.
