Minister for Women's Development announces at a press conference that the Council of Ministers has agreed in principle to ratify the Convention on the Rights of the Child. The Council of Ministers also agrees to set up a committee to look into harmonizing the provisions of the CRC, national legislation and Sharia Law, which is to be completed later in the year.
