Al-Shabab enters UN compounds in Baidoa and Wajid removing equipment and vehicles. In Baidoa, operations are suspended due to looting of emergency communication equipment from the compound. In Wajid, although Al-Shabab removed cars and furniture from a WFP compound, operations are allowed to continue with minimum security conditions remaining unchanged.
Al-Shabab issues a statement banning the UN Political Office for Somalia (UNPOS), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and the UN Department of Safety and Security (DSS) from operating in Somalia, citing them as "enemies of Islam and Muslims".
