After the US-operated container vessel, Maersk Alabama, is seized off the coast of Somalia--about 400 miles (645km) east of Mogadishu--by Somali pirates, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton announces a four-point plan to combat piracy which includes working with international partners at an upcoming International Conference in Brussels on support to Somali security institutions and AMISOM.
