The Defence Sector Reform (DSR) section supports the UN Mission leadership by establishing a clear and accurate overview of Somali military capability amid the broader security sector.
DSR provide the Mission leadership with strategic analysis and operational insight on events that impact the political/military landscape, with an emphasis on the impact of military decisions on politics (and vice versa).
DSR support the Somali National Armed Forces' capability development and capacity building by cohering international partners and security stakeholders through forums across the strategic, operational and tactical domains.
DSR work to develop strong and enduring working relationships with the Somali Ministry of Defence and the Somali National Armed Forces in order to promote peace, stability, good governance, and sustainable development in line with the Somalia Security Development Plan and the National Security Architecture.
